What is IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) at Oceanaconte Spa & Clinic?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), also known as photorejuvenation, is a non-invasive medical aesthetic treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of broad-spectrum light to treat various skin conditions. It offers comprehensive solutions for a range of skin issues, and it's known for its minimal impact on the skin. IPL is used for improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of pigmentation, redness, and rosacea, as well as stimulating collagen production for smoother, healthier skin.

How does IPL Work?

IPL uses a broad-spectrum light produced by an intense pulsed xenon lamp. This light is filtered to select specific wavelengths within the range of 500-1200nm. These selected wavelengths target "chromophores" in the skin, such as melanin, collagen, and haemoglobin. Chromophores are the target tissues in the skin. When the specific wavelengths of light are directed onto the skin, they selectively heat and break down these target tissues. For example, melanin absorbs light within the 250-1200nm range, while haemoglobin absorbs light at wavelengths between 590-1200nm. Since the melanin and blood vessels in abnormal skin tissue contain more chromophores compared to normal skin, they heat up more during the treatment. This heating process closes off abnormal blood vessels, breaks down melanin, and stimulates collagen production. The destroyed melanin and blood vessels are eventually metabolized and eliminated by the body. This helps improve various skin conditions, including pigmentation issues, sun damage, redness, and acne.

Additionally, IPL induces a photothermal effect that causes collagen and elastin fibres in the dermis to contract, restoring elasticity and promoting the synthesis of collagen and elastin. This helps reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and pore size and improves overall skin texture.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • How many sessions are required to see noticeable results?
The 3D Non-Surgical Facelift at Oceanaconte Spa & Clinic is a single-session treatment, and you will immediately observe a significant, voluminous, and firming effect.
  • Can the implanted Soft Threads and hyaluronic acid be fully absorbed by the body?
Soft Threads are eventually metabolized by the body into water and carbon dioxide and then absorbed. Hyaluronic acid naturally exists in the skin and participates in normal skin metabolism, thus being absorbed and broken down.
  • What age is suitable for the 3D Non-Surgical Facelift treatment at Oceanaconte Spa & Clinic?
Age is not the key factor. As long as you notice signs of skin sagging, a vague facial contour, and a loss of subcutaneous soft tissue, you can consider this treatment.
  • After the Soft Threads and hyaluronic acid are absorbed and metabolized, will the face quickly become more saggy and droopy?
The skin will not suddenly sag because even after Soft Threads are absorbed, the skin's collagen and elastin will continue to increase, maintaining the firmness and elasticity of the skin. After hyaluronic acid is metabolized, the injection site will return to its original state, and there will be no more wrinkles or depressions.
  • What are the risks and side effects?
Any injection has some risks. While hyaluronic acid injections are widely used in medical aesthetics and are very safe, if not administered properly, they may result in rare risks such as facial clots, blindness, and localized skin necrosis. These risks are rare, and proper technique and adherence to best practices significantly reduce them. Soft Thread Lift is a minimally invasive non-surgical treatment and may lead to minor swelling and bruising. If post-treatment care is not followed correctly, it may result in infection and inflammation around the incision site. Moreover, there is a very low incidence of thread breakage after implantation, and this is exceedingly rare.
  • In what situations is thread lifting not suitable?
Thread lifting is not suitable for individuals in the following situations: Pregnant or breastfeeding. Skin inflammation or infection. Those taking anticoagulant medications such as aspirin. Individuals with facial implants or any permanent fillers. Those prone to hypertrophic scarring or keloids. Q: How long does the entire treatment take? A: A single session of the 3D Non-Surgical Facelift at Oceanaconte Spa & Clinic typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, with the required time varying depending on the areas being treated.
